Let’s pretend you don’t have another container in your collection. (Note I said pretend because if you need one, I always have some to share.) You’d like to do something a little “out of the box”. How about putting it into a tree? I have found brightly colored annuals with a trailing plant like this ornamental sweet potato vine is a great choice. They are both pretty low maintenance as the tree provides shade. If you do select the sweet potato vine remember it’s ornamental, not edible.
For less than $3 for a very small starter plant, you will get incredible value. These plants spread very quickly and make a great ground cover. It’s ok to trim them back as often as you’d like. When you check on them the next day, the new growth will already be underway. Enjoy!
